Melody and Harmony has come to an end, and we’re so grateful for every second of Holy Spirit ministry, every point of connection, everyone that received renewed hope, and for all the clarified calling that was packed into our days together.
Yesterday, we were hosted by our Black Pastors and Leaders Association, which was especially meaningful as we celebrated Juneteenth. Beth Moore shared about Psalm 130, declared that we are not on probation due to our past sins, and gave a powerful word about women speaking with boldness. Akwasi Boakye then spoke to us about lifting our lives and the work of our hands up to God as worship.
In our closing session, Jay shared his sense that we are on the cusp of the next move of God, which he is seeing happening on college campuses. He encouraged us to consider being a part of this. He also talked about the maturation of our movement, that we are learning how to do grown-up things so that we can quickly give away what we have to the generations coming up behind us. What if all we are doing isn’t actually for us?
We pray for safe travels home and that the Lord will continue the good work he started in each of us this week. Please take some time and fill out the survey below while everything is fresh in your mind.

All women pastors and leaders are invited to our National Women’s Association Conference, which is being held at the Evanston Vineyard on October 2-4. Dr Nijay Gupta and Jo Saxton will be joining us for an incredible time of equipping, Holy Spirit ministry, fellowship, and so much joy! We know that God has MORE for us as individuals and as the Vineyard collectively: More grace, more praise, and more people to love into His Kingdom.
Join for the Vineyard Worship Retreat happening October 14–17 in Estes Park, CO. It will be a life-giving time of worship, spiritual renewal, and meaningful connection in the stunning Rocky Mountains. This retreat isn’t just another event; it’s a sacred space for worship leaders and team members to step away from the demands of ministry and be refreshed in the presence of God. Over the years, these retreats have been transformational. Many describe them as “game-changers” for their lives and ministries.
Mark your calendars to join us in Columbus, OH, July 13-17, 2026, for the Better Together Conference. More details coming!

They also founded Equip & Empower, a ministry that is mobilizing people everywhere to live on mission for Jesus. Propel Women is an initiative of the ministry dedicated to coming alongside women all over the globe to activate their God-given purpose. The ministry has also planted three life-giving Zoe Churches in Europe that are not only bringing the Gospel to the region, but also serve the most vulnerable through humanitarian outreach during times of crisis.
Christine is the best-selling author of more than a dozen books and studies and you can tune into her weekly podcast or television program to be encouraged with the hope of Jesus wherever you are. Christine holds a Master’s Degree in Evangelism and Leadership from Wheaton College.
Drew Hyun is the Founder and Lead Pastor of Hope Church NYC, a diverse church with three locations in New York City. Drew is also the President of Emotionally Healthy Discipleship, an organization that aims to transform church culture through the multiplication of deeply changed pastors and leaders. He regularly speaks at churches, conferences, and college campuses throughout the United States and abroad.
He is a graduate of UC Berkeley, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div), and Fuller Theological Seminary (DMin) and is the author of the book, Beautiful, Disappointing, Hopeful: How Gratitude, Grief, and Grace Reflect the Christian Story.
Jay Pathak is the National Director of Vineyard USA. He also serves as the Lead Pastor of the Mile High Vineyard, a family of neighborhood churches in Denver, that he and his wife Danielle, planted in 2001.
Jay co-wrote the book, The Art of Neighboring, with Dave Runyon. His passion for sharing his faith with the people around him is at the center of his calling.
Jay is a humble, empowering leader who is passionate about raising up leaders around him. His strengths, in particular, lie in strategically placing people on teams where they thrive. Additionally, he regularly thinks of ministry in context of culture and developing relationships and partnerships in the city, government, and across denominational lines.
Jay has lead in various contexts throughout the Vineyard starting as an intern for Rich Nathan at the Columbus Vineyard in his early ministry days, and stretching into various positions of translocal leadership including serving on the Vineyard USA Executive Team for many years. He is a sought after speaker and coach, while keeping strong ties to the local community.
Jay has a BA in Philosophy from The Ohio State University and is a graduate of the Vineyard Leadership Institute. Jay met his wife, Danielle, in high school and they were married in 1998; they have two beautiful daughters, Jasmine and Sofia.
Charles A. Montgomery, Jr serves as the Associations Directorfor Vineyard USA. Charles also founded a successful multiethnic Campus (Vineyard Columbus East) and has pastored there since 2012. His passion is to develop Beloved Communities as espoused by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, an alumnus of Charles’ alma mater, Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
Charles has a B.A. in Mathematics from Morehouse, a Master of Divinity from Emory University (Ga) and a PhD in Ethical and Creative Leadership from Union Institute University (OH).
He has earned several credentials in Diversity Training and is a Certified Spiritual Director through the Sustainable School of Faith.
He considers his greatest accomplishment (ok, grace) being married to his childhood crush, Kimberly. Charles and Kimberly are avid Buckeye fans (Go Bucks!) and make their home in Columbus Ohio.
Melanie Forsythe-Lee is the leader of the Women’s Association for Vineyard USA, giving voice, encouragement and support to women throughout the movement.
Melanie was born and raised in the post-Christian landscape of Australia. Her parents were church planters, and it was in that context that her love of local church was cultivated. Her passion for Jesus and people led her and her now late husband to start a youth ministry that saw hundreds of teens come to Christ, as well as leading the 24/7 prayer base in Australia.
They moved to Ohio in 2003 to work as Youth Pastors, and in 2009 they were sent out to plant LIFE Vineyard Church. Thirteen years later, LIFE has grown into a vibrant faith community, a sheltering tree in the heart of Columbus. This community also extends to Cambodia and India, where, through a partnership with Asia’s Hope, LIFE supports two family-style orphan care homes for at-risk children. Visiting the children in India each year is one of the deep loves of Melanie’s life and ministry.
Melanie has been a Pastor’s daughter, Pastor’s wife, a co-lead Pastor, and now solo lead Pastor. This unique perspective has developed a passion to see women empowered and released into their callings at every level of ministry leadership and she is excited about serving the women of the Vineyard in her new role.
Melanie is married to Andrew and is the proud mother of three incredible teenagers. In her free time you’ll find her growing her own vegetables in her rather large garden, baking in her kitchen, or listening to live music.
Mary Anne de la Torre was born in the Philippines and immigrated to NJ when she was almost 7 years old. After attending college in Pennsylvania, she began her teaching career but was quickly called into ministry.
Mary Anne de la Torre serves as the Executive Pastor / Next Gen Ministry at North Jersey Vineyard. She oversees the Children’s and Youth Ministries and also supervises some staff members and serves on the Executive Leadership Team. She also joyfully serves with the AAPI and Women’s Associations.
Mary Anne de la Torre and her husband, Rich, have two kids, Marcus and Noemi. She loves to travel, spend time with her family, and works part-time as a donut connoisseur. She tries to run to offset all the donuts in her spare time.
Rubén Quintero is a follower of Jesus Christ, married to Vaneza, and father of Rubén (20), David (18), and Iván (16). Since 2022, he has led the Hispanic Association for Vineyard USA, supporting pastors and leaders by providing leadership development.
He serves as the senior pastor of Imperial Valley Vineyard, a church founded in 2009 in El Centro, CA. The church has actively supported its local community and, since 2011, has participated in the Iberia Partnership to assist Vineyard churches in Spain and Portugal. Rubén is dedicated to supporting immigrant communities—particularly agricultural field workers—and acts as a chaplain for a private harvesting company.
He is presently affiliated with the National Latino Evangelical Coalition (NALEC) and is pursuing graduate studies at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Board Members, Trustees, and Elders have carried a significant weight for all Vineyard churches throughout the Bylaw Update process. And ongoing, you have an incredibly unique role in the life of a church. From knowing legal responsibilities and approving budgets to making the tough decisions during a crisis, you’re responsible for seeing the “big picture” of a church while still engaging in the daily life of a congregant and disciple of Jesus. We’d love for you to join us for coffee and pastries on Wednesday morning from 7:00 – 8:30 am as we gather to celebrate the accomplishments of 2025, connect with those in similar roles, and be encouraged by the collective work of the Vineyard movement since the last time we gathered.

Crisis Response International (CRI) trains and mobilizes everyday heroes just like you to help people after a crisis shakes their world. Our certified CRI Responders bring hope, relief, and the love of God to communities affected by natural disasters and international crises. Whether responding to hurricanes, wildfires, or humanitarian emergencies, our teams provide essential aid, spiritual care, and hands-on support where it’s needed most.
Compassion International works to end child poverty by connecting vulnerable children with churches in their communities who know, love and protect them. These churches provide medical care, fight malnutrition, protect children from harm, and share the hope of the gospel. When children are cared for, mind, body, and soul, they go from surviving to thriving with the resources they need to break the chains of poverty. In order to do this, they partner with churches like yours to invite individuals into a life-changing, discipling relationship with a child in poverty. It changes the child’s life…as well as the sponsor’s!

Since 1993, more than 209 million Operation Christmas Child gift‑filled shoeboxes have been distributed to children in more than 170 countries and territories including over 50 hard to reach nations.
For many of these children, the gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received. Delivered into the hands of children through local churches, every shoebox gift is an opportunity to share about Jesus Christ and God’s love.
All across the globe, churches are being planted as local pastors and ministry partners share the Gospel through evangelistic outreach events and the Greatest Journey Discipleship program. Learn more at samaritanspurse.org
In the year 2000, Global Frontier Missions was founded with the purpose of seeing disciples made and churches planted among the remaining unreached people groups of the world. GFM’s humble beginnings involved one missionary couple making disciples and planting churches in a few of the least reached villages in Oaxaca, Mexico. During the first few years, hosting short-term mission trips and summer internships led to others joining GFM with God’s vision and heart for all nations. An indigenous Bible school was started to equip local, national leaders in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting among their own peoples and beyond. GFM then started a missionary training school to equip more people to serve among the 3.4 billion people that have never heard the gospel. GFM’s staff and vision steadily grew over that first decade.

New Generations — the name says it all. Our passion is to mobilize disciples that make disciples, resulting in churches that plant churches. Like Jesus’ parable of the seed that fell on good soil, each individual seed has the power to create countless future generations of new seeds. Our ministry compass points to the pioneer places, where the gospel has never been or has never flourished. Among these unengaged and unreached peoples, our mission is simple: ‘We work with God to launch Disciple Making Movements’.

His Feet International’s founders, Todd & Michelle Matthews, have travelled all over the world over the last twenty years and lived on the mission field for 13 years. During this time living in a persecuted nation, many relationships were formed with people doing many important “frontline” ministries. Living in this restricted-access nation in Asia gave us many opportunities to also work in some of Asia’s most hard-to-reach places. In those places, many relationships were formed with people doing work so important, so cutting edge that we have committed to help share their stories and help promote their needs.
